It is no secret that I have a high affinity for coffee. There was once a blessed time where half a cup of coffee would suffice to render me shaking for hours, but nowadays it takes about three of them to somewhat wake me up. While I do love going out and exploring the city for different coffee places to work at while enjoying my favourite hot beverage, I also tend to require at least one cup of said beverage to get me out of the house. Vicious circle, I know.
A lot of people think that I am a bit of a coffee snob which is somewhat true. I know what I like and what I don’t. However I would be unable to tell you whether a coffee contains notes of peaches grown in an orchard near the river. That’s where McCafé comes into play. A few years back, McDonalds changed the beans they were using for their coffee in favour of a new 100% Arabica beans, roasted slightly darker than medium coffee bean which became a game changer. Since then, McCafé has become available for Tassimo and Keurig. Pop one pod into your machine, press start and in a minute you are greeted by the wonderful smell of freshly brewed coffee.
I am a big fan of french-press coffee at home, however the sealed pods keep the ground coffee fresh and fragrant and allow me to make exactly one cup of coffee each time I need one. This system also allows for your coffee to be brewed the exact same way, each time, thus resulting in the distinctively strong and tasty flavour I crave each morning. Some people get out on the wrong side of the bed in the morning. Give someone some of those magic pods and it shall never be a problem.
