For the majority of my life, a car has simply been a motor vehicle. As long as it had four wheels and could take me to places, it didn't really matter much to me and I was at a complete loss whenever anyone were to mention a specific car model or the power of an engine. However, my recent experience with Lincoln has completely changed my perception of what cars should be like.
This past week, I was lucky enough to have been invited by the hundred-year old American car company for a day of immersion into the brand. Starting off with a small meet-and-greet on the rooftop of the gorgeous Bisha Hotel, we were walked through the history of Lincoln and the four car models currently being produced by the brand. We started off the day in a beautiful navy MKZ and headed over to Mindham Fine Jewellery, where we had the opportunity to view Madame Coco Chanel’s original Maltese cuffs designed for her by Fulco Di Verdura. The custom jeweller is the proud host of a selection of the Verdura jewellery and they are sure to take your breath away.
For the second leg of our journey, we headed off to Novajet Aviation Group in an MKX. The mid-sized luxury crossover SUV was the perfect ride for our hour long trip and we made sure to take advantage of the sound system in the car. When I plugged in my phone to charge, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it synched up automatically which enabled me to play music straight from my Spotify. Upon arrival at the second location, we had a quick lunch followed by a relaxing back massage and a vehicle handling course where we were able to test out the remaining two vehicles. Even at a higher speed, the cars remained optimally comfortable, even at the end when we encouraged to do a heavy brake.
In order to return back to the downtown core, we stepped into a luxurious helicopter and had a thirty minute ride over the city, basked in the afternoon sun. We then climbed on my absolute favourite Lincoln car, the Continental. I do not typically enjoying sitting in the backseats of cars due to motion sickness but the continental has the roomiest backseat area I have ever seen. Paired with how smooth it is to ride in it, heading back to our hotel truly felt like a luxurious experience. Following a brief hour of refreshing at Bisha, we were taken to our dinner location. To make the ride even better, I decided to make use of the car’s massaging option which provided me with a lovely lower back massage on our way to Minotti.
While our end goals were absolutely wonderful, what truly made this day memorable were the rides to those destinations. Lincoln has set my expectations really high when it comes down to luxury cars and I cannot wait until my next ride in a Continental. I can truthfully say that I am completely head over wheels for the brand.
