Everybody loves a good suit. The imperative word here being “good”. A good suit can be worn in different ways: with a white tee shirt and chucks for a casual look or you can wear a crisp shirt and brogues if you’re planning to dress to impress. The range of variables is quite wide but there is one thing that you should never compromise on: a good fit.
While I do often find beautiful pieces of suiting in high street stores, unfortunately they never fit me properly. I have a size 28 waist, usually float between a 46-48 when it comes to shoulders and I am 5’9. Off the rack suits are usually too long, too baggy, have too much room in the buttock area (let’s be honest, I simply don’t have enough buttock) or they are insufficiently tapered for my tastes. Thankfully for me, there are stores like Indochino. Their Fit Method suiting is achieved by trying on a pre-existing template in the store and getting 14 different alterations made to them to get an optimal fit. I’ve had a navy and a dusty pink suit made at the store and I have never regretted it. Well, I do have one regret: I am never satisfied with off the rack anymore.
While keeping on topic with this week’s shopping post on Monday, one of the best times to purchase at Indochino is during their Black Friday sale. The brand is currently offering up to 70% off everything online and in their showrooms and since the suits usually take a month to manufacture, you might still have time to get your measurements done, order a custom suit and have it right in time for the end of year parties. If you hurry, that is. If you have already gotten a suit made at Indochino in the past, shopping online might be your best option since all your measurements would already be in their system. Use the code BLKFRI to access the sale prices and get shopping.
I shall be skipping the mall this Black Friday but I will make sure to stop by the Indochino store to pick out some new fabrics. One cannot ever have too many suits, right?
